Sissy's New Bling

Babies are cute.  Girl babies with earrings are the cutest.  Naturally, Sissy is the cutest girl baby with earrings.  Ever.  I didn't ask anyone for opinions beforehand because I realize that this debate can get a little heated, but the girl was a champ.  Literally.  I was so nervous for her; piercing hurts and I don't want my baby to hurt, but she cried for maybe 10 seconds and then she was over it.  And I do mean over it.  She hasn't pulled at her earrings or shown any signs that they bother her.

George, She's Pulling Herself Up!

There's this movie, maybe you've heard of it: Father of the Bride (Part 1).  As I'm sure you can extrapolate from the title, the movie is set from the viewpoint of George Banks, Annie Banks' father.  George recounts the fiasco that is Annie's wedding and all of the goings ons around it.  As Annie returns from Rome, George's secretary announces over the loudspeaker at the sneaker factory that George owns, "George, she landed!"

That line has really stuck around with my sister and I.  Every trip we take or important milestone, we exclaimed, "George, she landed!"  Or "George, she sitting!"  Or "George, she's crawling!"  Well, "George, she's pulling herself up!"  Can you believe that; pulling herself up and then standing?!  This girl is something else.

I'm not sure exactly who she's going to be; maybe funny, maybe serious, maybe carefree or maybe by the book; but no matter who she turns into, she will be standing.  Standing at 7 months, standing at her wedding... You get it, right?  I'm being Mrs. Sentimental 2014; but for real, this is kind of a big thing.  And being the good mother that I am, I had to document it all.  So, here she is, George; standing!

Is It Too Soon?

No, it's never too soon to talk about Christmas and if you think it is, then you should stop reading... NOW.  I've gotta say that this sweater is like the best sweater ever:

Not only is if from the best movie ever, which if you don't know what movie that is, I would think that you've stopped reading by now, but it's reasonably priced at about $25 +shipping and handling.  I wish that I could QVC model the ish out of this right now, because that's how much I want it.

So let's say that we all start thinking happy and merry thoughts and work on getting into the holiday spirit!

The Announcement

Well, sorry to disappoint my Mother, who guessed a puppy and my Sister and Father who both guessed another baby, but the big announcement is that I will be doing 30 blogs in 30 days.  Anyone who blogs knows that doing 30 blogs in 30 days takes a lot of commitment and time, but I've done it before and I will do it again.

However, I do have my naysayers; when I let Megan, my sister know about my latest endeavor, her response was, "yeah, yeah, yeah."  Well, to that I say, self-proposed challenge made and self-proposed challenge accepted... starting June 1st!

Fall Photo Shoot 2013

For several years, we've taken the time to document our children outdoors during a beautiful time of year.  This year, we headed out to a chic landscaping store, because we had a gift card, and I happened to grab our nice camera; while it certainly didn't start off being our Fall Photo Shoot 2013 that's totally where it ended... and I'm thrilled.

And keep an eye out for Arden's blue car, which managed to sneak into quite a few pictures.

It'll Do

When Jim suggested that we go to a chain diner restaurant the other night, I agreed... or rather acquiesced, thinking to myself, "it'll do," which I can't say now without thinking of Babe, the movie.  I didn't want some dumb ol' chain hamburger and fries or worse yet, the stress that comes from having both kids unhappy with anything on the menu, which is how the regular family meal out for us goes.  But this time it was different.  Like, way different.

The kids were well behaved.

There were no shoes being flung over the booth behind us, or spilled drinks, better yet: I ate an entire meal without having to lift someone over me to go to Daddy, or get up to chase someone who's bolting for the door.  It was so refreshing and wonderful, it was almost too much.  It turned my "it'll do" into, "let's do it again!"

Don't get it twisted though, it's entirely too much to think that every single time that we go out will be this awesome, most times are going to be ok; which is something that I will settle for in light of the fact that we've had bad and even downright terrible meals out, where I swear that we're never going out again, but always change my mind when Friday rolls around and we need a break.

As I always do, I couldn't resist snapping away some pictures- even the light was freakin' amazing and the boys were paying me no mind, which made the pictures, in my opinion, are perfect... I know I'm laying it on pretty thick, but honestly, it was a real turning point in our dining out career; there is hope.

The Things: New House Edition
